Modern Art

The category 'Modern Art' must be defined differently and more comprehensively for Arttrade Sperling GmbH, contrary to the art historical classification. In addition to classical modernism, which can be traced back to the 1870s to the 1940s, the exhibition also looks at postmodernism, which stretches from the end of the Second World War to the 1970s. This art era can hardly be more diverse, since it contains the most well-known genres from Impressionism, Expressionism, Dada, Bauhaus, Verism, New Objectivity and Surrealism to post-war art and the subsequent painting of Informel. These categories include all works of art from these art epochs in their various forms, such as paintings, works on paper, drawings, and sculptures.
